The French Embassy and the FACE Foundation are launching the Thomas Jefferson Fund to support new collaborations and the most innovative projects between promising young researchers in France and the United States. The Thomas Jefferson Fund aims to foster forward-looking collaborative research in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences, of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and of Science for Society that addresses the most pressing global challenges.

Sciences Po has been awarded the Qualité Français langue étrangère label (Quality Label for French as a Foreign Language), attaining the maximum score of three stars. Sciences Po has been attributed this label for the quality of its teaching of French as a foreign language, the professionalism and commitment of the teachers and staff, and the conditions in which the students are taught.

Le 9 mars 2017, Fujitsu annonce la création d’un centre d’excellence dédié à l’Intelligence Artificielle à l’École polytechnique. Les équipes de Fujitsu travailleront avec les laboratoires de recherche de l’École et les start-up hébergées au sein de « La Fibre Entrepreneur – Drahi – X Novation Center », centre de l’École dédié à l’innovation et à l’entrepreneuriat. Cette initiative s’inscrit dans le cadre d’un investissement de plus de 50 millions d'euros sur cinq ans de la part de Fujitsu afin de soutenir l'innovation digitale en France.

The Sciences Po School of Public Affairs is launching a public policy incubator to train students in developing innovative and robust public policy solutions. Prioritising citizen experience and the development of new start-ups, the programme combines expertise in engineering, design, digital technology and the social sciences to transform policies.
The incubator's partners include Facebook, for whom this is a first partnership with a higher education project, Harvard, the Global Public Policy Network and the municipality of the City of Paris.

With the very rapid growth of IT tools now available to us, especially computation power, artificial intelligence can be found in an ever increasing number of applications and disciplines. It is now omnipresent, in businesses, in industry, and in our daily life. 

Jean-Yves Le Drian, ministre de la Défense, a signé le 14 décembre 2016 avec Jacques Biot, président de l’École polytechnique et Yves Demay, directeur général de l’École polytechnique, le nouveau contrat d’objectifs et de performance (COP) qui fixe les objectifs stratégiques 2017-2021 de l’établissement placé sous la tutelle de la Direction générale de l’armement.

La Fondation de l’École Polytechnique vient de lancer sa nouvelle campagne de dons. L’objectif est de collecter 80 millions d’euros en 5 ans. Président de l’École Polytechnique, Jacques Biot revient avec nous sur la stratégie qu’il met aujourd’hui en œuvre à la tête de son école.

The 2016 admissions report confirms Sciences Po's increasing attractiveness at all levels of study, with a total increase in applications of 7 percent compared to 2015. The number of applicants for each of the admissions procedures—entrance exam, international procedure and the Equal Opportunity programme—has risen.
