Lotte Houwink ten Cate

Lotte Houwink ten Cate is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of History at Columbia University, and a Visiting Fellow at the Freie Universität in Berlin. Her dissertation is an intellectual history of the classifying and criminalizing of domestic and sexual violence across western Europe since 1970. For her dissertation research, she has been awarded Chateaubriand, DAAD and GSAS International Travel Fellowships, as well as the Jerrold Seigel Fellowship for Intellectual History. She previously held a Fulbright Fellowship and the Leo Baeck Fellowship for German-Jewish History at the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes. Her research has appeared in the New German Critique.
