Katharina Tittel is a second-year Ph.D. student at Sciences Po Medialab, Observatoire Sociologique du Changement, and the Institut Convergences Migrations. Her dissertation studies questions related to voice and representations of different social groups in (social) media discourses on immigration in Germany, France, and the UK, and how they relate to political power, group interests and social structure. She is passionate about discussing social justice, media, technology, democracy, and using mixed computational social sciences and qualitative methods. During the Alliance Doctoral Mobility program, she will be hosted at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at the Columbia University‘s Journalism School.
Katharina received her M.A. in International Economic Policy (Summa Cum Laude) from Sciences Po Paris, and she is actively involved in different local refugee-aid associations.
