Host/Pi FAQs
As hosting department/lab, you are responsible for:
- obtaining the funds available to cover the student (minimum 51% of $3000)
- all logistics and details of hosting the student including but not limited to:
- the visa process
- student onboarding

The internship is expected to be anywhere from 4 to 6months, ususally starting in April. Details should be discussed between the host and intern.
If it’s a matter of tweaking the invention agreement, you should work with Elizabeth Beerman in CTV. If she allows the changes to the invention agreement, you should retain their approval to the revisions. This would be submitted with the rest of the intake packet. If the VSI does not want to sign, the intake cannot be approved.
Most often, this does not stop Ecole Polytechnique from signing the Invention Agreement and from the internship from moving forward.
As the host, you are responsible for signing this document.
