Internship Opportunities for École Polytechnique Students
Open to third-year École Polytechnique students who have been admitted to the Alliance Research Internship Program.
The applications for Spring 2026 are now CLOSED.
Applications fro Spring 2027 will open in Fall 2026.
- Students work with a faculty member, who acts as an academic advisor and supervises their research project.
- Internships start in Spring. The duration, objectives and tasks of the internship will be discussed with the supervisor at the host center or department.
- Students are expected to have funding support of at least $3000 per month.
- Acceptable funding sources that can be used to satisfy 49% of this funding requirement can be found here.
- The remaining 51% of the funding must come from the student’s home institution, an external funding agency, and/or from the Columbia sponsor.
- If a student has 100% funding from their home institution or an external funding agency, there is no need for the PI to provide funding.
- Alliance cannot provide funding.
- If a stipend is offered, it will be specified in the internship offer.
- Students are responsible for finding housing.
- All students are required to apply for a J1 Visa to conduct an internship in the United States.
- All materials MUST be submitted in English and include:
- CV/resume
- cover letter
- letter of recommendation (you can submit it yourself, or have the recommender submit it directly)
