ELIGIBILITY
We accept applications in all AI-related subject areas, including (but not limited to): AI and Health, AI and Creativity, AI and Social Sciences, AI and Computational Social sciences, AI and Climate, AI and Education.
Special consideration will also be given to projects that aim to promote sustainable relationships between departments, research institutes, and schools in the Alliance network.
Eligible projects include:
- Workshops, symposia and other academic events designed to lead to new research or to the drafting of grant proposals for major foundations
- Thematic graduate workshops with students and faculty members from two or more Alliance member institutions
- Joint publications (monographs, edited volumes, or peer-reviewed articles) based on joint research or jointly held academic conferences or workshops
- The creation and delivery of joint courses (including online courses) between Columbia and one of the three French Alliance partner institutions. We are inviting proposals that aim to challenge and reinvent traditional teaching methods through the creation of joint courses (including through online, face-to-face and hybrid methodologies)
Preference will be given to a project that has the potential for scaling up.
Please note: Beyond facilitating initial contact between prospective principal investigators, the Alliance Program cannot assist in securing a faculty member’s participation in a project, nor can it support the organization of any events tied to the joint project, beyond supporting publicity efforts.
