- For French partners coming to Columbia, remuneration is based on the duration of your stay. The base for a full time, semester long position is $30,000, ususally paid out on a semi-monthly basis.
Please note, this is taxable income, at 30%. We suggest consult with a tax advisor about your individual circumstances to provide guidance on this.
2. For Columbia faculty, the details must be discussed with your host institution.
You are coming from France to Columbia:
- You are eligible for Columbia health insurance if you are a full time, salaried professor while you are Columbia. Eligibility for Visiting Faculty can be found here.
- If you are not eligible, policy states you must purchase your own (the minimums are stated in the link), or you can check whether international coverage through French health insurance matches the requirements.
You are coming from Columbia to France:
Please verify the below with you host institution
- You will need to obtain international coverage independently through a private health insurance provider.
- Expect visa fees
- You can be paid on your US bank account
- Your stipend is taxable
