All doctoral mobility applications will first be compiled by Alliance and then sent out to their respective institutions' preselection committee as follows:
- Ecole Polytechnique: Provost and Vice-Provost for Research, with support from the Director of International Affairs
- Sciences Po: Dean of Research
- Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne: Vice President for Research
- Columbia University: Pre-Selection Committee convened by the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Executive Vice President for Arts and Sciences, and composed of faculty members representing CLS, Arts and Sciences, SEAS, and SIPA.
Each institution will evaluate their respective doctoral mobility applications using an online evaluation grid provided and will submit their evaluations within a designated timeframe. They may also decide, based on their evaluation, not to put forward the application of a candidate.
These evaluations will be compiled by Alliance and submitted to members of the Alliance Scientific Committee (including additional representatives from CLS, A&S, SEAS, and SIPA). The Scientific Committee will then meet, deliberate, and select doctoral mobility awardees.
The review process will consider the overall academic quality of the proposal, the level of support from the two faculty members, the significance of the project to the field, the feasibility of the project and the contribution of the stay at the partner institution to the progress of the dissertation.
This process can take up to 3 months. Announcements can generally be expected in May.
